Artist Illustration The world of animation is ever expanding. With innovations incomputer animation, illustration has grown far beyond Saturdaymorning cartoons. Animation has evolved into a complex componentof web-design and nearly every element of mass media. With thehelp of personal computers and powerful design software, thepower to become an animator has never been more accessible tothe general public. Computer design software may be accessibleto the public, but the skill required to operate these programscan take months or years to develop. This may lead thoseinterested in animation to turn to a professional animator forinstruction. Interested parties may simply hire an animator tocreate the perfect animation for the need of the client. Todayanimation is becoming a more versatile tool rather than just aform of entertainment. Artist Illustration can be an integralpart of a website or a multimedia tool used to enhance acorporate presentation. Many companies are turning to animationto improve brand image. Animation can also revitalize the imageof a company and assist in market penetration. Illustrators nowhave the ability to tailor their services to the specific needsof its clients. A client may need a banner advertisement placedon a certain website to increase more traffic and gain morebuyers of a product. Animators also use sophisticated softwareto create attractive animated websites that attract buyers andtraffic. These tools can add a new level of professionalism toan otherwise bland site. Client Involvement Many artist illustration services involve the customer fromstart to finish. The illustrators keep the client involved inthe creation of the product to insure a final product the clientwill approve. This direct line of communication with the clientis vital in maintaining a successful business. Illustrators knowthat whether a client wants a sophisticated flash animatedwebsite or a simpler corporate logo must keep the vision of theclient first and foremost. This attention to detail can make orbreak the illustrator-client relationship.
Roles of the Artist
Today's animator is more than just an artist. The animator mustmanage all aspects of the cutting-edge industry of design.Today's artist must keep current on the technology and industrytrends. This allows the artist to provide the highest level ofservice to his/her client base. The animator must also performan editorial role. This role allows the artist to interpret theneeds of client and turn them into a finished product. Theillustrator can then create a product that reflects his/her ownpersonal style while giving the client satisfactory results.Work, for the artist, is not all about bottom lines and clientapprovals, however. The artist has many other outlets that allowtrue expression of ideas. These side projects are the truepassion of the artist. These animations give the artist thelatitude to push the limits of his/her ability. These projectsare the pride and joy of the artist and the passion shinesthrough in these works. Many of these projects go on to winawards. Others develop a cult following. Whether the artist isworking for the corporate world or working an elaborate sideproject, the creativity comes through in all aspects of theartist's work. Although the roles of the artist have changedwith the evolution of technology, the drive and passion ofcreation remain intact with artists of all genres.
